You are invited to come and celebrate the heritage and architecture of Lincoln Bishop University as we enter a new era (with a new name!). Enjoy talks, tours, 'games jam' and a film screening of The Wild and the Willing (dir. Ralph Thomas, 1962).

10am-3pm, ‘Games Jam’: Under supervision, teams are tasked with designing a board game from scratch that is related to our institutional history. The finished articles will be tested post-3pm. Attendees can join for the whole day, or come at 3pm to see the finished article and talk with lecturers and students involved in the design.

Between 3pm and 5pm, our academics will offer a series of short talks, guided walks and activities around campus:

History detectives: A fun way to explore our campus and buildings. See if you can match historic photographs of the campus to their present day campus locations?

Roman remains: The archaeology team will lead a tour to illustrate Roman heritage on site and provide a look at our archaeology laboratory and its ongoing research projects.

Skinner building. The heart of campus, dating back to 1862. Our talk and tour will provide an introduction to major architectural changes, including the beautiful Chapel.

Old School House: In the building that used to serve as a practising school for trainee teachers, we will offer a presentation on the early history of the College, with a focus on the student experience.

Lincolnshire Day: Colleagues from English Literature will discuss how the institution celebrated ‘Lincolnshire Day’ and Tennyson in the past.

5.30pm: introductory talk and screening of the 1962 British drama, The Wild and the Willing, filmed in Lincoln – marking the film debuts of Ian McShane, John Hurt and Samantha Eggar.
