Boxted Airfield Story from 1942-1965. The top American Fighter Group in Europe (56th) destroyed over 1000 enemy aircraft. The only congressional Medal Of Honour awarded to a fighter pilot in Europe. A large fuselage section of the only surviving B26 Marauder Aircraft in the uk & largest collection of B26 artefacts. The 1st American Air Sea Rescue squadron formed in May 1944.
