Led by Imogen Radford and OSBrecks volunteers. Along the route we will talk about the lives of workers in flint knapping and in the fur processing factories and other Brandon industries.

A guided walk through Brandon's industrial heritage for the town's Heritage Open Days.

Learn more about the rich heritage of Brandon on this guided heritage walk. Explore the lives of workers in flint knapping and in fur-processing factories and other Brandon industries, as well as a visit to the Engine House at the Country Park to find out more about life in a country estate. We will also explore the flint-knapped mausoleum in the Country Park and discover the story of its creator, 19th century gunflint industrialist Edward Bliss: the man who owned a mansion and estate and planted 1 million trees that became part of Thetford Forest.

This route has been specially created for Brandon's Heritage Open Days and will be guided by Imogen Radford and OSBrecks volunteers.

This guided walk covers 2.9 miles (4.7 km), with an optional shorter route of 2.1 miles (3.4 km). It is free to attend thanks to funding from Brandon Town Council. The walk is suitable for all ages; however, one section runs alongside a busy road, which may be challenging for families with young children. Most of the route follows pavements and firm forest tracks, making it generally accessible.
