Overview
Explore Brandon’s rich and fascinating river history with this guided walk ending with exhibition and other activities.

Find out about river navigation, trade and recreation past, present and future on this guided walk.

Get a sense of what it was like to work in the river trades: on the lighters, in the maltings, in one of the important riverside inns, or fishing for eels and making the willow traps. Hear stories of regattas on the river, raft races, swimming, boating and fishing and other riverside activities (details confirmed nearer the time). At the end of the walk, dive deeper into the details by exploring our river exhibition, enjoy a chat over tea, coffee and other refreshments.

This route has been specially created for Brandon's Heritage Open Days and will be guided by Imogen Radford and OSBrecks volunteers.
