Find out about river navigation, trade and recreation past, present and future on this guided walk.
Get a sense of what it was like to work in the river trades: on the lighters, in the maltings, in one of the important riverside inns, or fishing for eels and making the willow traps. Hear stories of regattas on the river, raft races, swimming, boating and fishing and other riverside activities (details confirmed nearer the time). At the end of the walk, dive deeper into the details by exploring our river exhibition, enjoy a chat over tea, coffee and other refreshments.
This route has been specially created for Brandon's Heritage Open Days and will be guided by Imogen Radford and OSBrecks volunteers.

Suitable for all ages, though part of the walk is alongside a busy road, so may be tricky for young families. There are two possible routes, between which we will decide on the day depending on those attending. The slightly longer walk is accessible, along pavements and firm paths, while the shorter version has a narrower path and a section across grass.
