Buildwas Holy Trinity

Learn about Our Digital Ancestors, a National Lottery-funded project delivered in partnership with Caring for God's Acre. This project is digitising our church records to create a digital map of the graves and memorials in our churchyard, helping to preserve our local heritage for future generations.

Find out about the Rev. John Bartlett, our vicar for almost 40 years (1822–1861), who brought clean water to Ironbridge. You can visit his distinctive iron gravestone in our churchyard and hear about current plans to restore his historic water fountain to its original location in the centre of Ironbridge.

Church members will be on hand throughout the day to welcome you and answer your questions.

Accessibility details

The front door of the church can be reached via our paths from the west (steps) and south (rough path, not wheelchair accessible). Disabled parking is available to the east end of the churchyard (drive up Park View into the village and take the first left, then park behind Buildwas Academy, our village primary school) - the church can then be accessed via a flat concrete path through the churchyard to the church front door - we have ramps into the church.

Additional information

Buildwas Holy Trinity Church opening is also part of the annual Ride + Stride initiative. This is a national event organised by the National Churches Trust (NCT) which Shropshire Historic Churches Trust (SHCT) co-ordinate in the Shropshire region and raises funds for local churches.
