Bursledon Windmill - open afternoon
Bursledon Windmill, Windmill Lane, Bursledon, Southampton, Hampshire, SO31 8BG
Bursledon Windmill will be open briefly to visitors on Wednesday 16th September 1200hrs - 1600hrs.
This is a welcome opportunity to drop in to meet the team from charity Hampshire Buildings Preservation Trust (HBPT) who are developing plans to create a sustainable future for the mill which was closed in 2024 by Hampshire Cultural Trust due to funding cuts.
Those attending can also register interest in volunteering, meeting volunteers who maintain the site whilst the mill is closed and find out more about what type of skills and support might be needed. Volunteer guides also plan to open the mill so visitors can take a quick look at the interior of the mill.
Car parking is very limited on site, so please consider walking and well-behaved dogs are welcome. The site isn't currently suitable for young children. The mill has steep stairs, floors are slightly uneven and sensible footwear is required.
