  • Multiple dates available
  • In person

Visit Canons Ashby to enjoy the beautiful gardens, the historic house, and the medieval church. Enjoy live music from the clarinet ensemble, Liquorice Allsorts on Saturday and an activity for children on Sunday.

Canons Ashby is a fascinating puzzle of a building, made in several different stages and styles, surrounded by a terraced garden which will be full of colourful dahlias in early September. If you want a longer stroll, stride out into the parkland, or cross the road to see the Priory church where the medieval canons used to live and worship.
We will be welcoming the wonderful Liquorice Allsorts' clarinet ensemble for both indoor and outdoor performances on Saturday (weather depending).
If you're visiting with little explorers, pick up an activity sheet from Visitor Reception. There will be a children's activity on Sunday between 11am and 2pm.
Whilst you’re here, pop into the shop to collect a souvenir or treat yourself in the tea-room to a cream tea or a light lunch.
Free entry on these days only as part of Heritage Open Days. There’s no need to book in advance.

Accessibility details

Canons Ashby House has steps and stairs throughout, uneven floor levels and low natural lighting due to its historic nature. The Great Kitchen is the only room with level access, although this is over very uneven cobbles. In the Great Kitchen there is a video tour of the house with headphones, and volunteers are present to answer questions. The garden is terraced with different levels, slopes, and stairs and is partially accessible. Please read the access statement on our website, or contact us for information via email - [email protected] Some areas are pram friendly.

Additional information

At busy times we may need to use timed tickets in the house - please pick up your house tickets when you arrive - these are first come first served. It may be very busy on heritage open days, and we have limited capacity in the car park.
