Carisbrooke Cemetery - known locally as Mount Joy (after the name of the hill the cemetery is sited upon) - will be hosting a Heritage Open Day where visitors have the opportunity to learn more about the history of the cemetery and the people linked to its beginnings, along with the history and legacies of local people laid to rest there.

We will not be able to accommodate many cars on the day; there is very limited space for vehicle parking. Any space available for parking may not be close to the cemetery chapel. Visitors will be required to walk. The cemetery has a mixture of flat and upward & downward sloping pathways. There is a steep upward slope upon entrance to the cemetery. There are no toilet facilities in the cemetery.
