Come explore the path less travelled with the rangers of Wicksteed Park for a guided walk through our water meadow and learn about the natural features that run through the Wicksteed grounds and history that extends beyond the playground and rides.

Join our rangers for a guided walk through our scenic water meadow and discover the natural features that flow through the Wicksteed grounds, along with the rich history that stretches far beyond the playgrounds and rides.

This immersive route will lead you through the tranquil water meadow, where the terrain is uneven and largely unmarked. Along the way, we’ll explore both historic and modern architectural features that tell the story of the site's evolving landscape.

The highlight of the walk is the Castle Field, a remarkable site steeped in history. Here, you’ll learn about the remains of a medieval manor house, complete with its original moats and a fish pond.
