Celebrating Bells at St John's
St Johns Church, Berrygate Lane, Sharow, North Yorkshire, HG4 5BJ
Sharow Bellringers are working to keep the bells at St John's ringing for generations to come. In 1824, over 200 years ago, 6 bells were put in the tower. In 1871, two more bells were added. Now Sharow Bellringers are raising awareness of the importance of bells to individuals and in the community. "Bellringing is a really captivating and joyful hobby, socially, cognitively, and physically." Not just ringing to call the Faithfull to church, for weddings, funerals and National events, but highlighting the benefits to individual wellbeing. "It's our privilege and our responsibility to honour the long standing tradition of bell ringing in England and around the world." Celebrating Bells at St Johns, welcomes all ages, and abilities to share the joy, meaning and wellbeing that bellringing brings to individuals, communities and the nation.
