Celebrating Railway 200 at Hampton Lovett Church and Parish Rooms, Worcestershire
The Forest, Hampton Lovett, Hampton Lovett, Droitwich, Worcestershire, WR9 0LU
The 'Hampton Lovett Heritage Railway' (located inside the church) reveals Hampton Lovett's relationship with the railways and in particular the Worcester and Wolverhampton railway line which opened in 1850. The railway includes new rolling stock and live sound from the engines to add to the atmosphere! The church itself is central to the model with the line passing close by. Discover the history of the local lines and the relationship with RAF Hartlebury including the connection with Operation Starfish in World War II. Then wander around this Grade I listed church and discover its notable architectural features and monuments (each with a story to tell). See 'mysterious markings' recently discovered in and around the church. Take a guided tour of the C14th tower or a video tour should you prefer. Please note guided tours are limited to three persons at a time (aged 10 and over). The tower steps are curved, steep and narrow. Sensible footwear is required. There may be some waiting time if busy. There will be a photo-quiz for children. There will be a display of Morgan Cars in the area adjacent to the churchyard. Parking, toilets plus light refreshments and a book sale are all available in the nearby Hampton Lovett Parish Rooms. A free copy of our booklet 'If These Walls Could Talk...Revealing Secrets at Hampton Lovett Church' will be available for all visitors and there will be an additional small souvenir for National Lottery Players.

There is a single step on arrival through the lychgate, and some steps down from the main entrance porch into the church and some single steps within the church. There is a grassed access route to an alternative entrance on the other side of the church. The church does have two portable ramps which stewards will put in place to help anyone as needed.
