Come along and sample “The Chester Tour”, the longest running public walking tour in Chester, operating daily for more than 50 years.

Our qualified local guides will take you on a walk through Chester, bringing to life the everyday stories of the city’s people across nearly 2000 years of history. Along the way you will take in some of the highlights of the regular tours, including the city walls, the unique Rows, the ancient Cathedral and of course the world-famous Eastgate Clock.

The tour will last approximately 45 minutes. Advance booking is essential to ensure your spot.

Bookings will open on Eventbrite for all three Taster tour dates on Monday 24 August at 12pm and close the evening before the event at 6.30pm.

Accessibility details

The guide will be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the tour for a prompt start. The route may not be fully accessible as it may include some steps and steep slopes. However, it can be adapted to be fully accessible if the guide is made aware of any requirements in advance so please contact Heritage Chester via Eventbrite if you want to join the tour but have difficulty with steps. Well-behaved dogs on a lead are welcome.

Additional information

The walk will go ahead whatever the weather so please dress appropriately and bring a drink in warmer weather. The route will cover uneven surfaces and may include steps so please wear suitable footwear.
