Chilterns Crematorium 60th Anniversary
The Chilterns Crematorium, Whielden Lane, Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP7 0ND
Join us as we mark 60 years of service at Chilterns Crematorium, supporting generations of families within our community since 1966. As part of National Heritage Open Days, we warmly invite visitors to explore our grounds, reflect on our history, and learn more about the evolving role of crematoria within society.
This special anniversary event will feature a historical exhibition, developed in collaboration with Amersham Museum, showcasing the story of Chilterns Crematorium alongside the rich heritage of the local area. Through carefully curated displays, visitors will gain insight into how both the site and the wider bereavement sector have developed over the decades.
Confirmed speakers include Pete Healy of Amersham Museum, who will share insights into the local history and heritage of the area, and Sir Peter Thornton KC, who will discuss his award-winning book The Later Years.
