Picturesque garden village of Port Sunlight built end of 19th century, originally constructed by Lord Lever as a home for workers at his soap factory, Lever Brothers, which eventually became Unilever. Christ Church opened for worship in 1904, English Gothic architecture, graveyard, bell tower and position all reinforce this impression.
