Starting With a Gesture Made Towards Each Other is a public presentation of the Cinenova collection, shared here for the first time through a newly commissioned online catalogue — designed by Brussels-based studio. Launched with commissioned texts, archival material and access to a selection of films, this vital feminist film collection is opened for wider public encounter.
'The Burr Film Library proudly launches the redesigned Cinenova feminist film catalogue. BFI National Lottery Screen Heritage Fund, awarding National Lottery Good Cause funding has allowed improved access to the collection that explores gender, race, community and more, from 1915 to 2005. The updated website features newly commissioned texts connecting these historic works to the present-day.
The Burr Library is run by Berwick Film Media and Arts Festival.
