Classic Liverpool Bus Running Day

On the 13th September the Merseyside Transport Trust will be using its collection of classic buses that represent types that operated on bus routes across the local area in the later half of the last century, the Merseyside Transport Trust will be giving free rides to members of the public on a network of routes from Liverpool City Centre recreating the sights, sounds and smells of bus travel, with the opportunity to view the diverse architecture of Liverpool as they travel around the streets of our historic city city.
Buses featured heavily in the everyday of the city for the majority of residents with passengers travelling to work or school, shopping, meeting friends and family and for nights out.
Services will start from 10.30 from the bus stop at the top of James Street near the Victoria Monument and will run at frequent intervals with buses heading tout towards the suburbs. Services will run until approximately 16.30
All services are free, there is however donation buckets should anyone wish to make a donation towards the Merseyside Transport Trust.
Given the era that the buses were manufactured disabled and pram access is limited.

Unfortunately the majority of our classic buses where constructed in days before accessibility was considered and are therefore not suitable for Wheelchairs, however our friendly crews will be on hand to assist where ever is practical.
