CLAY 1A is a unique cultural destination opening in the historic clay town of Ipswich in 2028. We are delighted to offer the opportunity to visit the building before it is refurbished, and explore some prototype exhibits about clay in your everyday.

The building CLAY 1A inhabits is an old warehouse, built in 1901 by the famous Ipswich malting business R&W Paul to store grain. It is currently undergoing a transformation to become a one-of-a-kind visitor attraction which will invite visitors to embark on a journey with everyday objects made of clay, experienced through immersive exhibits and interactive installations

For Heritage Open Days, we are inviting the public to have a peek inside the stripped back building and to participate in some test exhibits designed to get your feedback.
