Join us for two special events exploring the everyday lives of the working folk of Clitheroe!
2:00pm - Clitheroe's Last Steam Engineer - Between the cotton mills in Clitheroe, the limestone quarries in Chatburn and the railway that connected them, steam power was the most powerful driving force in the Ribble Valley for decades. But who lived and worked amid the oil and smoke? Join us as we explore three generation of the Monk family, where they lived and worked, and how to find similar stories in your own family history.

2:45pm - Ribble Valley Stanza - Enjoy poetry readings inspired by our local history and the lives of working folk of the valley and beyond, courtesy of the Ribble Valley Stanza poetry group.
