Cranleigh Arts Centre originated in 1974 .The building was orginally the Village School built in 1848 and closed in 1975 There will be an exhibition of the use of the building from 1848 to current day.

Cranleigh Arts Centre originated in 1974 when the Cranleigh Players, the Arts and Crafts Society and the Camera Club wanted to find a dedicated space to use for their various community events.The building was originally the Village School built in 1848 and closed in 1975.In October 1978, a long term lease of the building was eventually signed by Waverley Council and celebrated with the first week-long Arts Festival and the official opening of the building as Cranleigh Arts Centre.
Cranleigh Art Centre is kept going by a diverse and committed group of volunteers, with as many paid staff as can be afforded, and it remains a valued cultural asset for the village.
