Join the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for a free tour of Liverpool (Allerton) Cemetery, led by one of our experienced volunteer guides.

The cemetery, of 150 acres, is one of the main burial sites for Liverpool and is Grade II listed. Purchase of the land for the cemetery was completed in October 1906 and the first burial took place on 29 December 1909, and is still in operation.
Liverpool (Allerton) Cemetery contains graves of 415 Commonwealth services personnel from both World Wars. The majority are in two war graves plots, with Screen Walls bearing the names of those buried there. The rest of the war burials are scattered throughout the cemetery and are mainly WW2 and include 9 polish war graves and 2 Victoria Cross winners.
