Those remembered at Earlham Cemetery provide an amazing diversity of stories. There is Captain and Quartermaster George William Valentine Clements who fought in all the major battles of the Crimean War and died serving at Mousehold Camp aged 85 in 1916; There is also the story of Lieutenant Muller Chateau who fought at Gallipoli in 1915 as part of the Light Horse Regiment with the Australian Imperial Force and ended the War in the British Army as a commissioned officer in the Royal Artillery. It also includes the love story of Wladislaw Slizewski and Eugenia Zagajewska of the Polish Forces who lie next to each other having died together on Easter Weekend 1946.
