Join us and hear about the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and stories of some of the men and women that are commemorated in this cemetery. The graveyard was formed in 1878 and is to the east of Tyldesley town center. The cross of sacrifice originally stood at the market Place in Tyldesley and was later moved to the cemetery. The cemetery has 249 war dead represented in private graves and the Cross of sacrifice. CWGC have 35 headstones within the cemetery, 24 from WW1 and a further 11 from WW2.
Those buried in Tyldesley cemetery provide an amazing diversity of stories.
