CWGC Tours - Stonefall Cemetery, Harrogate
Stonefall Cemetery, Forest Lane, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, HG3 1DE
With over 1000 Commonwealth War Graves, Stonefall Cemetery is one of the largest Commonwealth War Graves Commission sites in the North of England. Nearly all of the casualties are airmen from the Second World War, with over two-thirds belonging to the Canadian forces.
Join us for Heritage Open Days, at Stonefall Cemetery, Harrogate on Wednesday 17th or Saturday 20th September for a guided tour. This year our tours will focus on the iconic CWGC architectural features at the site such as our headstones and the Stone of Remembrance. We will also be highlighting the work of Sir Edward Maufe, a Yorkshire man and the Principal Architect for the United Kingdom after the Second World War who designed the unique Yorkshire stone shelter at the site.
