Join us for Roger Hancock's Heritage Talk about Dame Sarah Swift, one of our famous past members of our congregation. She stood alongside Florence Nightingale at the birth of the nursing organisation. Starting at 2pm with refreshments.

Join us to learn more about Sarah Ann Swift who was born in our Parish and lived in Kirton Sheldyke, near Boston. Although her name is generally not so well known, Dame Swift was instrumental in the development of Nursing in Britain and worked tirelessly to raise the standard of nursing education and practice and to improve working conditions for nurses. During WW1, she was Matron-in-Chief of the Joint War Committee of the British Red Cross Society and Order of St John and went on to found The Royal College of Nursing.
