Originally built for the RNLI in 1883 as the North Deal lifeboat station, it is now the base for the Deal Angling Club.

There will be a display about the old lifeboat station, angling and wrecks on the Goodwin Sands.

The station was in service until 1932 (including throughout the First World War), during that period six lifeboats operated from the station and their crews were credited with saving a total of 859 lives.

The building is now the base for the Deal Angling Club which was formed in the year 1919. Club members will be serving free tea and biscuits, and answering questions on the exhibition.

There will also be exhibitions on the Dunkirk evacuation and Goodwin Sands Conservation Trust (see seperate entries for details).
