Discover Bancroft Roman villa
Milton Keynes Museum, McConnell Drive, Wolverton, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK12 5EL
On this walk we will explore the villa, identifying the rooms and discussing who may have lived there, and will walk past the site of the Roman mausoleum. We will then take a short walk to MK Museum to see some of the finds – including a Roman mosaic, fresco, coins, and jewellery. The event is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in your local Roman culture!
The walk & talk will be taken at a medium pace, but please note that we will be walking from Milton Keynes Museum to Bancroft Roman Villa and back. This is a walk of 1.5 miles in total. There is a hardcore path around the villa, but there are areas where the ground is uneven, and the inside of the villa is grass and can be muddy. The walk to the museum is up a gradual slope.
There are no toilets at the Bancroft villa, but they are available at the museum.
