The doors of St Peter's Church in Cradley will be wide open on
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September.
See inside our church which was originally built in 1789 as a Non-Conformist Chapel, before the minister converted to the Church of England in 1798. The tower was built in 1875 to house the bells. The sanctuary which was added on in 1933 features three stained glass windows by local stained glass artist William Pardoe of the Stourbridge Stained Glassworks of nearby Lye.
Local History Experts will be helping visitors with tracing their Cradley ancestors and a selection of local history books will be available to purchase. They will even help you find relatives buried in the churchyard!
Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
Blacksmith demonstrating the art of forging and chainmaking in the churchyard and there will be a display of wedding dresses from the last 100 years in the church between 10.00am and 2.00pm on the Saturday (the event continues on the Sunday but without the Blacksmith and Tower Tours.

Places are limited, please book in on arrival on the day. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult.
At 2.30pm there will be a free concert with Victoria Barlow playing favourite wedding music on organ and piano. A live video feed of Victoria at the organ console will be projected onto a big screen.

Tower tours involve a climb up a spiral staircase and is not recommended for anyone who is not keen on enclosed spaces.
