Durham School Tour & Durham School Chapel
Durham School, Quarryheads Lane, Durham, County Durham, DH1 4SZ
Durham School was refounded in 1414, and moved to its current site in 1844. Join the school Archivist and Development Director as they tour guests around the historic site, and visit our wonderful War Memorial Chapel, which commemorates the lives of the Old Dunelmians who have died in the service of their country since 1914.
The tour will start at the bottom of the Chapel Steps and then (depending on numbers) split into two groups, each ending their tour at the Orangery café, where free refreshments will be provided to guests.
As the School is in session, access is by the tour only. Please do book on the tour and arrive promptly for a 2pm start.
There is no access to the side except via the tour.

Visitors may tour the site as part of the guided tour at 1400 on Sunday 14 September only. As with most of Durham, there will be some steps and some uneven ground. As the School is a working boarding school, we ask visitors not to self-tour the site.
Refreshments will be served in the Orangery Café from 1500 after the guided tour.
