Our public houses (pubs, inns, taverns, etc) are very much part of our heritage. With speaker Tony Bostock, discover the history of these fantastic buildings and the stories behind their signs... while enjoying the atmosphere of our local pub.

Our public houses have existed for a century and more. This presentation will consider the history of pubs and pub signs generally before looking at some of the many attractive pubs to be found in the county and the meanings and stories behind their signs... all taking place in the cosy conservatory of the Farmer's Arms, a Poynton Pub which has stood in the Town for over 100 years!

This event considers the topic of 'Everyday Histories', and how the working person typically enjoyed their time after work. What better place than the public house?
