Elm Hill is one of Norwich’s most ancient streets. Many events throughout history have led to the street that we see today. It holds more Tudor buildings than the City of London, now heavily disguised behind more recent facades. Wealthy merchants lived here, along with ordinary folk and religious groups. You will learn the origin of the street’s name, the reason it is shaped as it is, and get to know some of the people who lived here. We will also see the backs of the buildings from the river aspect.
