Explore Bankside through a free digital trail uncovering thousands of years of everyday histories - from theatres and palaces to shipyards and hidden corners.

Available from Friday 11 September 2026, Everyday Bankside: A Hidden Histories Trail is a brand-new self-guided trail available via the free Bloomberg Connects app, running throughout Heritage Open Days 2026 (until Sunday 20 September).

This self-guided experience will take you around the hidden side of Bankside, revealing the stories of the people who lived, worked and shaped this riverside neighbourhood over centuries.

From theatres and bear pits to markets, shipyards and medieval landmarks, the trail shines a light on the ordinary lives behind Bankside’s extraordinary past.

Along the way, you’ll encounter unexpected places, surprising stories, and new perspectives on familiar streets - ending at The Golden Hinde itself, where these histories come together.

Perfect for curious explorers, families, and anyone wanting to see Bankside differently.

- Available 11–20 September only.
- Accessible from anywhere via our guide on Bloomberg Connects.

Watch this space - the guide goes live at the start of the festival!
