The Museum is mounting an exhibition of photographs and information focusing on authors over the centuries who have lived and worked in Totnes. Featured authors will include, among others, Sean O'Casey, Mary Wesley, Christopher Robin Milne, Desmond Bagley and Allen Sadler. There will be impromptu events throughout the days we're open, ranging from readings, "meet the author" opportunities and poetry readings . The Archive which is attached to the Museum will be open on Fridays and will be offering information on "how to start researching your family history".

- Totnes Museum is in the centre of Totnes in Fore Street. It is about half a mile from the train station (10 - 12 minutes' level walk) and 5 minutes' walk up the hill from the bus stops on The Plains. The Community Transport Bob The Bus circular route passes the Museum regularly.

Accessibility details
Totnes Museum is in a Grade 1 listed building which is 450 years old. There are narrow entrances, and uneven floors in places. The museum is arranged over three floors and access to the upper floors is via stairs. There are no lifts. Two downstairs galleries are wheelchair accessible. There is an inner courtyard which is cobbled. Access for wheelchairs is challenging, but possible. The rear courtyard garden has steps. There is no parking on site, but there are car parks nearby. There is limited disabled on street parking outside the Museum.

The Museum is in the centre of Totnes - a busy and historic town with a vibrant array of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There are town centre carparks which are signposted and also parking at the supermarket (2 hours free).
