Exhibition showcasing the everyday histories in our Special Collections and Archives reflecting 50 years of research project at Lancaster University.

Interviews are a key resource on the everyday histories of people in the past, and for the Heritage Open Day Festival 2026, we are showcasing some of the collections held by our Special Collections and Archives which include interviews and can be used in social history research. The exhibition will present materials from some of our collections which feature interviews with every day people demonstrating over 50 years of research at Lancaster.

This exhibition will be in the Special Collections and Archives exhibitions area on the ground floor of the Library.

This exhibition will accompany an event held on the 16th September where you can meet researchers who created some of the collections we hold in our Special Collections and Archives. You can more about the collections we hold on our collections web pages
