Look Up!, explore heritage and find hidden gems in Grimsby's town centre!

This Look Up! Tour is about looking up beyond the ground floors of our buildings to the upper floors that are less likely to have been altered over the decades. So, by looking at their original styling we can explore the history of buildings, their stories and very often, the artistry and embellishments by early craftsmen. But, please be careful when ‘looking up’ – you may find you need to take extra care when walking.
This Guide starts and ends at Grimsby's Town Hall and takes you around the town in a clockwise direction. However, you could start and end at any point in the guide’s instructions………..

Paper-based Guides will be available at Grimsby Town Hall and other local venues participating in Heritage Open Day events. Guides will also be available digitally from www.grimsbycleecivsoc.com/news-events There will also be available from the website, 'Supporting Infomation' which is not necessary to do the tour but can provide further interesting information beforehand, during or afterwards.

This self-guided walking tour is mostly within the main town centre streets some of which are pedestrianised. Usual care and attention regarding other pedestrians, pedestrian crossings and road junctions will apply. There will be plenty of opportunity for refreshment and toilet facilites during the Tour but the options will be dependent on the day and time chosen

This self-guided tour can be completed at any time. A digital download of the route will be available on the Grimsby, Cleethorpes & District Civc Society's website, or you can pick up a paper version at Heritage Open Day participating points around town. The Guide for the tour starts and ends at Grimsby Town Hall, but it can be started at any point in the Guide A 'sister' to this self-guided tour is one for central Cleethorpes.
