Everyday lives through the ages at P&G Wells
P & G Wells Ltd,, 11 College Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 9LZ
Explore the history of P&G Wells through the lives of people who owned the business & worked here. The Wells family ran the shop on College Street for four generations starting in the 1830s when Joseph Wells joined the business as an apprentice. His sons, Phillip and George (P&G) grew the business and passed it down two further generations until the 1980s when family involvement ceased.
Join us to explore the building, including the old Bindery, and hear more about the history of the people who have worked here.
We will run a number of informal short walks through the building taking visitors 'backstage' giving them the opportunity to see and hear more about the business and the people who have run it.
