Join Potteries Heritage Society for an illustrated talk exploring how firing pottery became more precise and efficient as bottle ovens evolved.

The profile of a bottle oven against the skyline is very familiar to the people of Stoke-on-Trent but the 50 structures that remain chart changes in their design which took place over centuries of development. The event is scheduled alongside the "Power in The Potteries: Energy Exhibition" at Etruria Industrial Museum and is part of the City of Stoke-on-Trent's centenary celebrations.
