Step from the quiet lane into the world of the Cornish poet, Charles Causley - immersing yourself in his home and belongings. Sit at his desk, play his piano, read his books and enjoy a space where words have hung in the air for 50 years.

Charles Causley lived in Cyprus Well for over 50 years, initially with his widowed mother and then on his own since the 1970s. He lived there until going into a local care home shortly before his own death in 2003.

The house stays largely unaltered from the time when Charles lived there and is open to the public for special events and gatherings. Writers, musicians and performers stay in the house regularly and we have welcomed an esteemed guest list of creatives and public figures including Andrew Motion, Frank Skinner, Rowan Williams, Roger Mcgough, Alyson Hallett, Jen Hadfield, Lord Lieutenants and MPS.

Whilst you sit in Charles's study why not find out more about the work of the Charles Causley Trust which supports creative and literary development through a range of residencies, schools' programmes, events, festivals, competitions, volunteering and internship opportunities.
