Explore & Discover: Open House at St. Mary’s Church Old Harlow

St. Mary’s church will be open to welcome all visitors between 10am-3pm as we share some of its rich history as a beautiful building but also as an active place of worship. There’ll be lots to see and do for all ages:
a self-guided tour of the Church to see the historical and architectural highlights,
a talk and guided tour of the stained glass windows at 12pm (approx 30 minutes)
brass rubbing
children’s craft activities
visit our bell tower and have a go at bell ringing between 11am - 12pm and 1 - 2pm only
a churchyard trail to explore the outside
Refreshments will be available during the day including cream teas served from 1pm.

Access to the bell tower is via a steep spiral staircase of 38 steps.

St Mary’s Church is also hosting Ride and Stride for churches on the same day. Note: some parking will be available at The Queen’s Head pub next to the church as well as in Sheering Road.
