Exploring Fenton’s Monuments and Stories
Fenton War Memorial, Albert Square, Fenton, Staffordshire, ST4 3AF
Fenton's monuments tell stories of remembrance, industry and community identity.
Beginning at Fenton War Memorial and ending at Glebedale Park Memorial, this guided walk will explore how local people, industries and communities have shaped Fenton over time, and how these places continue to be remembered and valued today.
As part of the event, you are invited to bring or share photographs, stories, memories and memorabilia connected to Fenton, Glebedale Park, the former Glebedale Colliery or the War Memorial in Albert Square. You can also share them before or after the event through the following link: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/5mt3vS6zBC. These contributions will help create both a physical and digital community memory archive, recording the stories that matter to local people.
The walk forms part of the Centenary Restoration Fund, a project restoring 24 small heritage sites across Stoke-on-Trent while helping communities explore, share and celebrate local heritage.
The walk will end at Glebedale Park, where you are welcome to stay for an informal picnic.
