Come along to learn more about corncrake conservation, their unique habits, and the efforts being made to protect this remarkable species.

Join members of the Barton Area Group for an evening talk with South Humber Warden Simon Wellock, exploring the fascinating lives of one of the UK’s most elusive birds — the corncrake.
Once widespread across Britain, corncrakes have experienced a dramatic decline, with breeding populations now limited to a small number of key areas. Often heard but rarely seen, the corncrake is best known for its distinctive call, which can be heard from dusk until dawn during the summer months. These remarkable birds are summer visitors to the UK, before migrating thousands of miles to spend the winter in central and southern Africa.
