This talk will look at the many changes in funerary practice that have happened over the last two hundred years, some mirroring national trends, but with the emphasis on preparation, display and transportation of bodies, wakes before funerals, funeral teas afterwards, local burial grounds, undertakers and customs. It will conclude by focussing on recent and possible future developments.
