Saturday 13 September, 10am - 3pm. Free entry. Come along and discover Flag Fen's ancient Bronze Age history. Learn about the log boats and how these are being conserved. Bring the family and let them discover archaeology through play.

Archaeologist Francis Pryor will be here to talk about Flag Fen, with the chance to purchase a signed copy of his book!
Talks 11am and 2pm. [Location: Arena Building, approx. 45 mins talk followed by 30 mins visitor Q&A].


Iron Age Roundhouse Build
Roundhouse specialist David Freeman will be on site, working on our brand-new Iron Age roundhouse.
Talks at 10.15am and 1.15pm, where David will share insights into roundhouse construction and life in the Iron Age. [Location: Bronze Age Settlement, approx. 45mins]

Conservation in Action
Our Archaeological Collections Officer, Jay Cumberworth, will host a fascinating show and tell with Bronze Age and Iron Age artefacts, alongside a talk on “Saving Peterborough’s Past”.
Talk 12.15pm. [Location: Museum Education room, approx. 45 mins]
Show & Tell Bronze Age and Iron Age artefacts, 10am - 12.15pm and Iron Age jewellery, 1pm - 4pm [Location: Museum Education room].

Boat Conservation
Meet our Boat Conservator and enjoy specialist talks about preserving ancient vessels.
Available all day [Location: Maisie Taylor Conservation Barn]

Heritage Craft Demonstrations
Demonstrations will be happening throughout the day around the site and include pole lathing, basket weaving, spinning yarn, weaving, flint knapping, stained glass and coin minting.

Flag Fen is located 3 miles outside of Peterborough City Centre. On arrival you will find a spacious gravel car park, with marked accessible parking spaces in front of the Visitor Centre. Coach parking is available on site for private tours and school visits. Google Maps
