Florence Nightingale Museum
Lambeth Palace Road, London, Greater London, SE1 7EP
Florence Nightingale is one of the most iconic and recognizable figures in British history and our museum focuses on telling the story of her life - from her wealthy upbringing, to her time in the Crimean War, to her later life and ongoing legacy. Our museum has one of the largest collections of artifacts belonging to Nightingale and many pieces relating to the Victorian Era. Highlights include Nightingale's most peculiar pet, an owl named Athena, her iconic lamp, and writing desk where most of her reform work took place! Our two temporary exhibitions - In Focus: Kofoworola Abeni Pratt and Caring Companions will also be open to explore. Learn new and exciting histories in a variety of ways, including in our Victorian Mansion VR Simulation.
Our museum will also be on theme this day with team members on-hand to discuss Nightingale's contributions to and influence on hospital design and architecture, including her famous book Notes on Hospitals! Short tours and talks will be available throughout the day!
Family Trails to help explore the space will be available and a dress-up corner for the perfect photo!
