At one stage in the 19th century, Berwick was a place full of Public Houses and Churches. Find out about some of the pubs which no longer exist but were very much a part of life in Berwick at the time.

The Berwick Arms

The buildings which housed many of Berwick's former pubs are still there but have been repurposed. In 1852, there were 15 in Marygate alone. The only one remaining is the Brewers Arms. Here's your chance to read some information about a selection of pubs gleaned from the archives and the local newspapers.
