Come for a vintage day out at your local heritage railway with free entry to their Museum Day on Sunday 20th September.

There are 25 acres to explore there, with carriages and steam locos dotted around the site for visitors to admire. They have a large railway museum full of memorabilia, steam engines and carriages, plus freight wagons and so much more. There is also a café and gift shop housed inside the most stunning, glass-roofed, vintage railway station building, that was originally Oxford's main station building until it was taken down and re-built at Quainton to be used as their visitor centre. It makes for a fabulous backdrop for a family day out.

The miniature railway will be running on this Museum Day (£1.50 per person, under 3s free) as well as the model trains, but full size steam trains do not run on Museum Days.

They also have a kids play area, train tables and a secondhand book shop on the site, which is run by volunteers.

The perfect day out for those who love trains and history!
