From Bronze age to Beestons "Bayeux" The History of Beeston Rylands.
Canalside Heritage Centre, 2-3 Weir Cottages, Canal Side, Beeston, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, NG9 1LZ
Beeston Rylands is bounded by the river Trent, the Clifton Pile settlement was found in the river when Trent Navigation were dredging for gravel in 1938. Log Boats, and many Bronze age artefacts were found. We are taking you from that age up to the Mission Hall Sunday School banner of 1926. We know the names of the congregation holding the banner and are seaking out any living relatives so we can invite them to attend on the weekend of the HOD to have their photograph taken with the Banner. We also have a photo of the "May Queen" of 1926, who is also on the Banner photo, and are asking for any living relatives to come forward.
