From Dig to Display: Get Behind the Scenes at the Museum of Archaeology

Join us at the Museum of Archaeology for a day of family-friendly activities and celebrate the reopening of our upstairs gallery. Whether you are interested in archaeology, science, local history or museums, there's something for all ages to enjoy. Explore the newly reopened gallery, get hands-on with archaeology, and discover the work that goes on behind the scenes at the Museum of Archaeology.
Activities include:
• Get hands-on with animal bones and learn how archaeologists identify different species with the Skull Index (Collaborative Database & Outreach Education)
• Explore museum conservation and collection care and find out how we protect and care for objects
• Learn more about osteology and how archaeologists study human remains
• Get creative with family-friendly craft activities
• Join one of our 20-minute Curator Tours, running every hour at half past the hour (first come basis maximum of 15 people).
No booking required, sign up for the curatorial tours when you arrive.
