The Burley History Group is hosting a community heritage event exploring 400 years of everyday life in Burley, from 1626 to 2026. The event brings together local residents, families and visitors to discover how the village and its community have changed over time.

Visitors will be able to explore a visual timeline showing key aspects of life across four centuries, including housing, work, transport, and community life. Historic photographs and archival material will illustrate the changing character of the village, while members of the History Group will be present to share research, knowledge and personal recollections, helping connect local history with familiar streets and landmarks.

The event is informal and family-friendly, with refreshments available to encourage conversation, storytelling and sharing of memories. Its aim is to celebrate Burley’s heritage, highlight the lives of ordinary people and strengthen community connections while inspiring interest in local history.
