From Fleece to Fashion
12 Upper Olland Street, Bungay, Suffolk, NR35 1BQ
Nursey’s has been a Bungay institution for over 180 years, originally producing leather aprons, gloves, and protective gear for agricultural workers and blacksmiths. The Nursey family stopped running the original Bungay sheepskin factory in 2014, when the Upper Olland Street workshop and physical business closed after 168 years of family ownership.
Their sheepskin coats became iconic in the 1960s–80s, with a major boom in demand. They famously made General Montogomery's and Del Boy’s (Only Fools and Horses) sheepskin coats.
The workshop will be open and cutters and machinists who still work above the old shop will demonstrate the same hand‑craft manufacturing methods.
